Weekly Observations
Audio-reactive music videos
I did VJ for a techno party last friday and I’m making an audio reactive visual for my friend’s track (still WIP)

- the snow flake and jellyfish motion make my brain melt somehow with the music that’s why im using them. I want to add a zoomed moth too because the antenna of the moth makes my brain feels stimulated.
then I met a girl she suggested my work feels like music video of NIN directed by David Lynch.

I’m trying to analyze this music video to learn sth for my future work.
Patterns
- decorative components and motion are reactive to beats, drums and bass line - feels synced and comfy
- flashing components have layers: red - red squares gives a fading effect, adds layer
- shaking human and sculpted footages gives more momentum vs my switch and still version.
Components
- gradually adding new components and color (red and low-fi color) into the video:
- black and white ballet dancer - bw with red flash
- man’s eyes - bw
- shaking eyes and head - bw
- sculpted ghost head white - color and bw
- mouth(?) collage - bw with red lines
- exploding inside a dotted room - space expanded and exploded
- sculpted ghost head red - intense
- motion: shaking motion on man singing and sculpted heads - low-fi color and bw
- flashes style:
- black dots in the end - almost feel like flies the shaking human head is trying to get rid of, is like stress and sorrows or something annoying, adding emotions to the shaking motion, my fav part
- red flash - red squares - gives layer to flashes
